Elizabeth Banks is
reprising her role as
Betty Brant in
Spider-Man 3, and she has a message for director Sam Raimi: "You should maybe write Sam Raimi a letter. I'm very aware of [my character's history]. Make him aware."
Of course, she's speaking of the fact that Betty was Peter Parker's first girlfriend in the comics, but so far Betty and Peter haven't hooked up in the films.
I have a "Before They Were Famous" clip of Elizabeth Banks. It's a Solero advert from here in the UK where she plays a bride who escapes the existential horror of her wedding to some sort of chinless inbred by taking a bite of her Solero (a fruit ice cream). A thought bubble appears over her head, in which she appears in a boob-tube, hotpants and disco boots. The environment is far more brash and colourful that the soothing green lawn of her wedding party, and she begins to dance.
ReplyDeleteBadly.
Very badly.
So badly that the "Star Wars Kid" appears, four years before the dance that made him famous, to laugh at her. Laugh, and point.
I may have made that last bit up, but she really can't dance, even if she has the most delightful eyes.

Is she aware that Betty was completely out of her friggin' mind?
