- Tom Hanks is producing a six-season series for HBO based on Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods. (I think they're going to have to pad that out a bit. Maybe that will mean more nudity, 'cause this is HBO we're talking about.)
- A Utah NBC affiliate has said it will not air NBC's upcoming prime-time drama The Playboy Club.
- Some of Hollywood's biggest studios are considering opting out of this year's Comic Con, prompting speculation that Hollywood's love affair with all things geek may be coming to an end. Or not.
- Facebook's membership went down for the first time ever in May.
- Geeks are Sexy highlights Emma Frost cosplay pics. (Personally, I prefer the Red Sonja cosplayer in the top group shot, but I have a weakness for chain-mail bikinis.)
- Angry birds (crows) attack officers at a Seattle-area police department. Now that's a murder of crows.
- Hollywood studios are turning seven — seven! — board games — board games! — into movies. (You have may heard about the Battleship movie. They're adding aliens to it.) Also, show the original Clue! movie some respect!
- A Prisoner-themed band makes a Prisoner-themed video of a Prisoner-themed song. Too bad the song itself sucks. But, hey, Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Be seeing you.
