- Peter Falk, the iconic star of Columbo, died last night. He was 83 and had been suffering with Alzheimer's disease.
- Comic-book artist Gene Colan, probably best known for his classic run on Marvel's Tomb Of Dracula, has died. He was 84.
- Two cult-favorite slasher flicks from the VHS era, Killer Party and Night School, finally make their way to DVD.
- MGM has tapped Seth Gordon (The King of Kong) to direct a remake of the 1980s classic War Games, which starred Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.
- Screenwriter Dean Devlin finally, and graciously, takes the fall for the 1998 American version of Godzilla.
- Neil Gaiman on the future of his novel-turned-HBO-series American Gods.
- James Spader is in talks to join the cast of The Office. We could get lucky. It could be like that last season of The Practice, with Spader's character destroying the firm and then getting a much cooler spin-off co-starring William Shatner.
